[Dovecot] Purging /var/mail/username ?

There's good reasons to use Maildir, and there's good reasons to stay
with mbox, but avoiding /var/mail is not one of them.

mbox is the "classical" format, and Timo (I assume) chose to setup
dovecot to use the "classical" location scheme as well, which is to
store incoming mail below /var/mail and let users pull it from there and
store it however they want at their personal folder below /home.

If you are new to all this, actually there is probably a good point in
staying close to the "classical" way of doing things, so that you can
get help from more sources.

I suggest keep receiving mail below /var/mail as mbox files, and play
around with mbox and Maildir storage for different (test-)users below /home.
