[Dovecot] question about

Correction:
default_mail_env = 
mbox:/var/spool/mail/%u:INBOX=/var/mail/%u:INDEX=/tmp/indexes/%u/

Is the folder .imap per user growing?
I mean is it updated or is it a onetime only creation of a directory? 
(thus I am not using Imap..)
