How big is your maildir?

Raising mail_process_size setting probably helps, although you'd have 
to have quite a large maildir to go above the default 256MB.. Unless 
something got corrupted (indexes?) and tries to allocate too much 
memory because of it. I don't think that should ever happen, though..
