do you have restrictive tcp_wrappers (i.e. /etc/hosts.allow
/etc/hosts.deny) settings?

do you have the imap protocol specifically set to only listen to
localhost in your dovecot.conf file?

those are the only things that jump out at me immediately... probably a
good place to start.
