[Dovecot] Sending email over IMAP?

I thought there was already a standard for this, an Outbox folder,
similar to a drafts folder except the email is sent.  Courier (see
http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/INSTALL.html) supports this now
(except does not delete from Outbox folder after sending).  However,
not supported by clients.

It's good because can have IMAP outside the firewall and sending within
the firewall.  Also, much faster in my experience.
