Fetchmail works fine with dovecot here, and elsewhere, I don't believe
it's a dovecot issue.  If you want to see what's actually happening,
turn on mail/auth debug in dovecot and then login from each of your mail
clients, compare the transactions line by line and see if you can work
out what's wrong.  You're welcome to come back and ask further
questions, but I have to assume this is user error...
