[Dovecot] Separate auth for pop and imap

Hi.

Is it possible to set up separate authentication backends for
POP and IMAP for a single Dovecot instance? 

Or does this require two separate dovecot instances with separate
config files?

Specifically, I want to have one database query for IMAP and one
for POP so that I can let these be separate features that I can
flag in a database.
