I'd like to provide additional information about this problem:
1. $ grep -v '^ *#' /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf |grep -v '^ *$'
protocols = imap imaps pop3 pop3s
ssl_cert_file = /etc/postfix/cert.pem
ssl_key_file = /etc/postfix/key.pem
default_mail_env = maildir:/home/%u/.imap
lock_method = fcntl
protocol imap {
}
protocol pop3 {
pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv
}
protocol lda {
postmaster_address = postmaster at localhost.localdomain
}
auth default {
mechanisms = plain
passdb pam {
}
userdb passwd {
}
user = root
}
plugin {
}
2. I've tried with lock_method=flock with the same results.
3. Thunderbird easily copy/move multiple messages from dovecot's folders
to local mail folders and from local mail folders to dovecot's, so I
have now workaround for this dovecot's problem.
