Have you got it enabled in the

	/etc/rc.conf file?

Check the /usr/local/etc/rc.d/dovecot file for information. I am not at
that machine now; however, I believe you just need:

	/etc/rc.conf
	dovecot_enable="YES"

In the file. It might be 'enabled' rather than 'enable' so check it out.
