[Dovecot] pop3 seems to be down sometimes

When it happens, try logging in manually. What exactly happens? Does it
write the "+OK Dovecot ready"? Does it reply to commands? Does it hang
only after you've given PASS command? See

So people are using TLS to log in.

And these don't, I suppose? Is it related to TLS? Again, when it happens
if you could log in normally with telnet, try logging in with OpenSSL's
s_client (the same wiki URL tells how).

Looks like it hangs IMAP as well?

Also stracing the correct login process (easier to test if you only use
one) or dovecot-auth process could be helpful.
