OK, I tried it again. I applied the patch, ran chmod 744 autogen.sh, ran
autogen.sh, and then tried dpkg-buildsource -uc -us -rfakeroot. I got

I can't really find an error message, but the packages weren't build. I
tried it three times, but to no avail. I feel pretty stupid...
