[Dovecot] Odd error message

This shouldn't happen unless the first authentication already failed.

I'm not sure why it crashes though. I couldn't reproduce it. Possibly
fixed by these, but I don't see how:

One way to reproduce the error at least is to stop dovecot-auth and then
do something like:

x authenticate plain
hello
world

But apparently with you the client disconnected and somehow that caused
the crash..
