but I followed ( long ago) a HOW-TO disable IPv6 in debian here:

and added these 2 lines to /etc/modprobe.d/aliases.conf
alias net-pf-10 off
alias ipv6 off

and commented the appropriate lines in /etc/hosts. SO, again, I am not
sure how IPv6 is functioning on my computer..
