[Dovecot] Mail Stuck in cur file

I am running dovecot 1.1.7  with postfix 2.6.5.  Ihad a server down issue and when it rebooted the IPFW firewalll on my FReebsd server prevented mail from being delivered..at least thatis what I think the issue was... when i stopped IPFW .. mail resumed
anyway I use vmail structure..and there are message in the cur directory.. how do i get them "reprocessed" or "released"  I presume this are incoming
