[Dovecot] dovecot not delivering emails in the right folder

The username looks broken.. It should be test at adomain.com, not
adomain.com/test/@adomain.com..

home is correct. Although it ends with '/', while in dovecot.conf you
have:

> args = uid=5000 gid=5000 home=/home/vmail/%d/%n allow_all_users=yes

i.e. doesn't end with '/'!

This data should be coming from mail_location setting and should end
with Maildir/.

Which you have here. So .. I've no idea really. It's as if you're using
a different config file for deliver.
