http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-2.0/rev/7705bd04924c removes this crash,
but hides the error.

http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-2.0/rev/c9af551124fb hopefully makes it
log an "Ext refs metadata corrupted" error.
