[Dovecot] . (dot) in maildir folder names

I think the reason for this is that the folder is not really created,
i.e. when you create "folder.subfolder" with TB, Dovcote will create
.folder.subfolder

But there is not maildir for:
.folder

Not sure whom to blame for this... is it a dovecot issue?
