I attached some information. (I attached it here, cause it does not show the excessive memory consumption I experience if deleting something, but dovecot's normal day-to-day memory usage I observe.)
I did not copy larger amounts of messages in this case or do anything unsusual.
There is no /proc/PID/smaps-file generated by the kernel I use (2.4 series), but I attached /proc/PID/status as it also looked as if might be interesting.
I'll attach logs of a 200MB+ sized dovecot to the other thread as soon as I prepared a suitable test, currently kMail is giving me headaches with that...
