How can I verify this?
Postfix's log should say that it's executing deliver.
I think I am getting a handle on what is happening.
when I send mail to user@myriapolis.net I get this:
Jan 3 22:02:02 hain postfix/virtual[22447]: 502AD40064: to=user@myriapolis.net, relay=virtual, delay=0.65, delays=0.52/0.01/0/0.12, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to maildir)
when I send mail to user@hain.myriapolis.net I get: Jan 3 22:33:08 hain postfix/local[22597]: F089C40062: to=user@hain.myriapolis.net, relay=local, delay=2.6, delays=1.3/0.03/0/1.3, dsn=5.3.0, status=bounced (Command died with status 80: "/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver". Command output: deliver(stabile): Fatal: Can't open log file /var/log/dovecot/deliver.log: Permission denied ) Jan 3 22:33:09 hain postfix/bounce[22600]: F089C40062: sender non-delivery notification: C394740068
So postfix isn't calling deliver when it is doing virtual mail delivery is my guess.
