Where exactly would that be? I worked for years in New York City, and except for the occasional terror bombing, it was a great place to work. Everything I could want was there. Then again, coming from a small town I did sort of miss just lounging in a chair on my back lawn.
New York City and New Zealand would be interesting, but I don't know of any interesting companies in them. Especially ones that would be interested in paying for Dovecot development.
Perhaps you could apply for some sort of collegiate or government grant. You would be surprised at the crap (nothing personal) that they allocate grant money for.
