Hi Christian,
this is just what I wanted to do from the beginning, but reading here I thought it was not possible:
"Replication works only between server pairs. If you have a large cluster, you need multiple independently functioning Dovecot backend pairs. _*This means that director isn't currently supported with replication*_. The replication in general is a bit resource intensive, so it's not recommended to be used in multi-million user installations. "
From: https://wiki.dovecot.org/Replication
I'll try then!
Thanks
Cheers

Hello
Thunderbird/Outlook does that, because you change the servername in your configuration.
In order to avoid that, use a reverse proxy and switch on it between your IMAP servers. You can use a dovecot director for that. In your clients you only configure the proxy. That also avoids changing configuration on all of your clients.
Kind regards, Christian Mack

Hi,
I have two IMAP/LMTP Dovecot server in replica (version 2.3.4.1) both connected through an IPsec tunnel, I use LDAP/AD for /userdb, /all seems to be working.
I have a question: if I switch my Thunderbird/Outlook client to use the other server I have to download again all the emails, about 10 GB.
Is there any way to avoid this? Do I have to download again all the folders every time I switch from node A to node B on my client?
Thanks!
Regards
