Interesting. On a FreeBSD-8.2/amd64 system with Postfix (2.8-20101108) installed I have not noticed any difference. I am assuming that this problem does not affect FreeBSD systems.
Correct. Only Linux is affected.
Anyway, Postfix's design has been like this forever, so no one would have ever noticed context switch counts increasing. But changing this might make them notice that context switches are dropping.
