[Dovecot] Auth mechanism variable expansion?

Hi all,

Timo wrote in a message to the list in February that "%m variable expands to the auth mechanism name.". Indeed, the Wiki "Variables" page states that this is the case. However if I use %m in my SQL password query it does not get expanded. I'm using rc 25. What am I doing wrong?
