Put "maildir:" before the path (probably to default_mail_env), so Dovecot knows that you want it to be maildir. Thanks Timo - I found that manually creating the maildir hireachy, or getting exim4 to do it relieved the problem, but nice to know there is a solution. thx again Glenn
