ls -la /var/run/dovecot/config
srw------- 1 vmail root 0 May 14 11:06 /var/run/dovecot/config
thanks to e-frog, this part of the problem is solved by adding:
service config {
unix_listener config {
mode = 0600
user = vmail
}
}
to 10-master.conf
But the service itself still is not working here.
