I think it must be fixed. I regularly do body searches using evolution and dovecot 0.99.10.5 on folders with 20k messages without any problems.

Is this possibly a problem with dovecot 0.99.10.9?
Maybe it's been fixed in a later release?
Might it be a security issue?
Thanks!

On IMAP evolution uses the imap server to do the search, although we cache results. We have no fixed buffers.
Sounds like the imap server is having the problems.
And yes, needless to say, if you're using imap you need to be connected to it??

Does evo perhaps have some sort of fixed-length buffer involved when searching message bodies?
I'm finding that message body searches work nicely on small folders, but almost always:
- Fail to produce any useful results
- Cause evo to need to reconnect to the imap server
...when searching message bodies on large folders.
Is this a known problem?
Thanks!
