Dovecot is a POP/IMAP server. Spam has to do with mail routing, which is
done by MTAs through SMTP.
The results of spam are experienced *after* *delivery* - ie, when
accessing a pop/imap server.
*All* email is routed through many different MTA's through SMTP, spam or
otherwise.
