[Dovecot] How to manipulate attachments with LDA?

Hi All,

I want to plug in a tool that will convert attachments somewhere into a mail delivery process (postfix->dovecot). I think deliver would be a good place to do it. Does it make sense? Could you direct me where I could read about how to do it please?
