Figured it out. Eudora (and Outlook Express) were sending plaintext auth. So, changed the disable_plaintext_auth config to "no".
Thanks again!

Ok, compiled and installed 1.0beta7. After much twiddling I got it cofnigured and running, and it DID fix the Pocket Outlook problem! WOO!
However, a new problem arose. A Eudora pop client attempts to connect, and all I see in the logs are:
dovecot: May 11 11:38:30 Info: pop3-login: Aborted login: rip=128.195.131.45, lip=128.195.131.4
Nothing before or after that. Any ideas? I did notice many other "Aborted login" notices as well, for pop3 and for imap.
Thanks! .josh

I'm unable to get Pocket Outlook, or FlexMail 2006 working on Dovecot 0.99.13. According to the logs it connects just fine. With Pocket Outlook I'll see the headers for a few seconds, and then it clears and shows nothing. With FlexMail, which is supposed to have fantastic IMAP support (and has tons of options), I just see an empty inbox.
First I'd try if 1.0beta happens to fix it. If it doesn't work with it either, then I'd be interested in looking at what exactly the differences are between Dovecot and another IMAP server.
