Although i managed to solve the problem by installing cyrus-sasl package and recompiling openldap before i see your reply.

But i will try your method on the 1.0beta9.

Ah. This problem. I think it should include -ldl automatically, but
since it doesn't, use LIBS=-ldl environment for now.
