Can I somehow change this message, to make it more userfriendly? Postfix has a possibilty to change the bounce_template_file.
Dovecot v1.1 allows modifying it, but for v1.0 you'd have to modify the sources. Since v1.0.4 the error message has been better though:
Your message to user@domain.org was automatically rejected: Quota exceeded
