Simply (and maybe stupid) question ......
is there anything that can be easily used to automatically compress IMAP traffic between client and server ? I was thinking if the SSL/TLS code enables some kind of compression as well.
the idea is to reduce IMAP traffic between server and clients and not using VPN-like solutions, the idea is just some IMAP4 standard client (compatible with SSL/TLS if that's the case) and nothing else.
can something like that be done ?--
