I thought so too, but it was fine on SuSE when I did a "make clean".
Anyway, it didn't make any difference on Solaris 8 :(
I can try this in Solaris 10, but I don't really see why the OS/architecture should matter.

Could be, I imagine it's as prehistoric as the bzlib :)
I'll look for patches on SunSolve tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with Solaris 8 for the production server (it's a nice old machine given an extra 3+ years of life by the performance gains of Dovecot over UW-IMAP).
