lock_method=fcntl should work with NFS if you're using lockd, and with non-NFS it should be working always..
No, this is on a local disk (SATA). What is the difference between the three different locking methods?
(I'm also seeing this problem with FreeBSD 6.1 and Dovecot 1.0rc10 on a local file system (ufs2 on SATA). I haven't tried the suggested workarounds yet, I'll post the results when I'm done.)
