I just tested dovecot-stable from 2005-03-08 and 03-12 and saw the following behavior. All of my mbox folders show is the first message's header. None of the files were truncated (whew, saves a restore). I had 0.99.12.1 installed before this, and just switched back to 0.99.14. Both 0.99.x versions work fine. What IMAP client did you use? kmail doesn't work with it..
