Thanks for your help, yes there is not dovecot-acl in .test1 but there is one in .test but I can't see either folder .

Suggestion welcome.

My dovecot-acl file reads "user=shantanu@techblue.co.in lr"

Looks like the dovecot-acl file is missing in /var/mail/public/.test1/ and is only in /var/mail/public/.test/

Do they show up when you list all folders?
