hi guys, im trying to install dovecot using yum on my centos. anyone tried this?

I believe many people have. It seems to install 0.99, which is no longer supported, nor has it been for quite some time. The current version is 1.0-rc19.

I concur. Don't even think about using the version in yum. Get the latest source from the dovecot website and build it yourself.

Or add ATrpms repo which has the latest rc.
