[Dovecot] Error: user Initialization failed: namespace configuration error: inbox=yes namespace missing

In my email archiving setup, no user will have an inbox (regular mail is taken care of by another system). Is it not possible to configure a dovecot setup without an inbox?

No. Also many clients require INBOX to exist and would probably break if it didn't. You could just keep an empty INBOX.
