[Dovecot] AUTH patch for Postfix 2.3?
The 2.2.1 patch works fine on Postfix 2.2.3 but not on the 2.3 snapshots. Any plans to update it for 2.3?
On a similar subject, Timo, are you going to try again to get it accepted by Wietse? If so I'd try to help out with the documentation part. I'm just not sure he'll accept it anyway, what with Dovecot auth only being used by Dovecot ...
Thanks, BTW ... it works nicely and was very easy to set up. Postfix 2.2.x is good enough for me, for now.

Shouldn't be too difficult, but I don't think there's much point since it probably won't work in next 2.3 snapshot anymore..

His suggestion was to instead implement SASL interface via struct like it's done for Postfix's dictionaries. Not a bad idea but I don't really see how it really helps, as Postfix itself doesn't support dynamically loadable modules. Debian adds that as an external patch. So even if I did that change (I think I did it almost completely) Postfix would still require patching to work with Dovecot, just a bit less.
Maybe I should talk to him more to see if he has some more plans which wouldn't require patching. Some day, when I again get inspired to update that code. :)
