[Dovecot] 1.0alpha4 uploaded to Debian unstable
I finally got some free time and uploaded 1.0alpha4. It will arrive in the archive by tomorrow afternoon. Together with the most recent libssl0.9.8 upgrade I think this will fix the SSL problems users have been facing.

Hi!
I'm getting this error after upgrade from 1.0a3 (with auth_debug = yes):
Dovecot v1.0.alpha4 starting up auth(default): client in: AUTH^I1^IPLAIN^Iservice=POP3^Isecured^Ilip=192.168.0.1^Irip=192.168.0.1^Iresp= auth(default): client out: CONT^I1^I auth(default): client in: CONT^I1^IAHZlZHJhbmYATm50bDEsS3NjaA== auth(default): ldap(vedranf,192.168.0.1): base=ou=Users, dc=pollux, dc=home scope=subtree filter=(&(objectClass=posixAccount)(uid=vedranf)) fields=uid,userPassword
[...]
auth(default): master out: USER^I1^Ivedranf^Iuid=1000^Igid=100^Ihome=/home/vedranf^I=vedranf pop3(vedranf): Set pop3_uidl_format setting in config file pop3-login: Login: user=<vedranf>, method=PLAIN, rip=192.168.0.1, lip=192.168.0.1, TLS child 7275 (pop3) returned error 89 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
After downgrading dovecot-common to 1.0a3 it works again.

do you have libssl 0.9.8a-3 installed? do you have zlib1g-dev installed?

Err. I really think this is simpler than the questions below imply.

I'm getting this error after upgrade from 1.0a3 (with auth_debug = yes):
pop3(vedranf): Set pop3_uidl_format setting in config file
This is the significant line.
So, set pop3_uidl_format in the config file, and see if it works.

You know, I was looking at that and I thought no it couldn't be that simple. I assumed the log was just noting that pop3_uidl_format had been set in the config file.
I hope you're right :-)

Aaaaa...stupid me. :-)
I shouldn't upgrade stuff after midnight and then complain that something doesn't work. The log should say something like:
Error! You didn't set pop3_uidl_format in config! I can't work without it, please set it.
...because "Set pop3_uidl_format setting in config file" looks like an information and not error.
And yes, after I set this it works. Sorry for disturbing.
Jaldhar:
Any idea why Ubuntu is lagging behind (!!!) Debian-unstable on this?

Apparently no one at Ubuntu cares I guess. The nature of Open Source is if no one cares (or gets paid to care) nothing happens.
I've toyed with the idea of making Ubuntu packages myself but I'm really busy right now so anything like that would have to be a distant second priority to the Debian packages.
