"Choosing the IMAP sent folder as account's sent items folder" is not working. That was the problem. But I fixed the problem using a "copy on send" rule. Many thanks

Outlook 2007+ no longer requires you to create that rule, you can now just tell it which IMAP folder to save the Sent mail to:
