Fedora Core 4 dovecot-0.99.14-4.fc4

I'm trying to diagnose some mail issues. I do not believe Dovecot is the problem. If I could see the Dovecot logs, it might be helpful in resolving my issue.

In /etc/dovecot.conf I have tried to set the following:

log_path = /var/log/dovecot.log info_log_path = /var/log/dovecot.log

I have 'touch /var/log/dovecot.log'.

When I try to restart dovecot 'service dovecot restart', it fails and I'm not able to see the reason why it is failing.

Where am I going wrong getting this working?

Also, are there various debug levels? I saw 'debug' mentioned on the list, but I was unable to see anything about it in the config file.
