I would be glad to make the changes and then to contribute that change, I just need a hint where in the sources I will find the right place.

With 0.99.10 you'd have to fix functions in src/lib-storage/index/mbox/mbox-storage.c

With 1.0-tests it's possible by defining namespaces:
