[Dovecot] Re-download emails from pop3 server

i use dovecot-1.0.7 for pop3 & imap and virtual users (via text) without any problem.
But when my thunderbird is setup not to delete from server (pop3) every time i do get i redownload all my emails from the server.
Can anybody advice ?

i have just changed the pop3_uidl_format from %v to %08Xu%08Xv At the development server seems ok, but unfortunately i would be able to check it at the production server next week.
