[Dovecot] Does thunderbird 3.x fully supports dovecot 2 shared mailboxes ?

Fully support? I'd say no. I'm not sure which MUAs do.
Thunderbird 3.x will honor the ACLs that are set, but has no way to edit them. So it does support shared mailboxes, you just have to have a different way to say, I want to share this mailbox with this user.

Do you means that users must have direct access to the mailhub to edit their ACLs ?

I would not say, its the very best plugin, but it runs. (we use dovecot 1.2.9 with shared and public boxes)
