On the old/current dovecot server, I have disabled on disk indexes:

mail_location = maildir:~/:INDEX=MEMORY

On the new server, I removed the 'INDEX=MEMORY' part, and I now see some new index related files, but what I don't see is the main dovecot.index file...

I only have:

dovecot.index.cache and dovecot.index.log

So... where is the main dovecot.index file?
