We use Linux Virtual Server as a frontend to almost all of our ISP services (dns, smtp, pop3, imap, http). This gives you a single point of failure so you should probably make sure you have two directors (one as a backup).

Hi Brandon HA means 2 Load Balancer with failover so no single point of failure
