[Dovecot] Getting Postfix Admin's DB to work with Postfix's/Dovecot's MySQL DB
Hi all,
I followed the instructions here: http://library.linode.com/email/postfix/dovecot-mysql-centos-5 to configure Postfix to work with MySQL and Dovecot before discovering PostfixAdmin (I was searching for a visual tool for creating users).
Since I had created MySQL database already for virtual domains and user mailboxes (following the instructions I linked to earlier) and PostFix admin's db too does the same. Question #1: is there anyway to make all these work with together for the creationg and use of virtual users/mailboxes? or is there another visual tool for creating virtual users/mailboxes?
I had also installed Roundcube following the instructions on Roundcube's page: http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_Install
The questions now is: . #2. Roundcube came with its own database, which also stores user information. Is there a way to ensure that the user information is picked from the database created to work with Postfix (and not Roundcube's)?
Thanks.

You can take a look at Modoboa (http://modoboa.org/). It includes a web user interface to create users and a simple webmail.

The upcoming 0.9 release will have great UI improvements over previous versions.

We just installed vimbadmin and are quite happy with it (although removed some annoying crap from the footer)
It's very easy to migrate from a postfixadmin-like database and it uses modern web interface tools and techniques which provide a more professional look and feel. The drawback of course is the complex javascript environment surrounding it.

roundcube normally needs its db for internal work but its a webmail client , so it can be configured in many ways but as standard it uses auth over imap to configured imap server so there is no real relation between the roundcube db , and i.e postfixadmin db
