[Dovecot] Dovecot LDAP Auth strange mailbox behavior

Is default_mail_env set correctly, so it's actually looking into
~/Maildir instead of somewhere else? Has Dovecot created
~/Maildir/.INBOX/ directory? If not, it's looking into wrong place.
