[Dovecot] Blank lines in mailboxes

Yes, at the beginning. Sometimes it's one line, sometimes 20 or 30.
What would I have to change before switching to the 1.0 branch ?
We use maildir, mbox for the inboxes, ssl, no other peculiarities.
